Your books printed

The Silver package runs in tandem with our book printing service rather than being an alternative, with the added advantage of the whole procedure being carried out under the same roof.
Bespoke cover design

If you are not in a position to supply your own print-ready cover, you can choose one of our standard designs (please click Other Services) or we can design your own personalised cover. Prices start at £99 if not part of your chosen package.
Interior page layout

For that thoroughly professional look, we can carry out the design of the pages within your book. Prices depend on whether pictures are involved and start at £45 if not part of your chosen package.
Proof reading

For a thorough check of the spelling, punctuation and grammar, we can offer a proofreading service which also looks at flow and continuity. Price on application if not part of your chosen package.
ISBN number

An ISBN number is the mechanism that the book trade uses to contact the publisher/distributor. If you acquire your own, you will find you can only get them in batches of ten, at £100. Our package includes your own, unique ISBN number.
Web Page

As part of our Silver package, we will set up a web page offering your book for sale, take orders placed through it and fulfill those orders. It may also be possible to arrange your very own personalised domain name and we can also create custom websites for an additional charge.
P.O.D. Availability

An alternative to investing in, and storing, a supply of books is to only print copies as and when they are needed. Please see our Gold or Platinum packages for further details.
Legal deposit Copyrighting

It is a legal requirement to send a copy of every new book to the British Library and advisable to send copies to five other deposit libraries. Our Silver package includes printing and dispatching all of those copies.
Publicity Material

Our Silver service includes fifty promotional postcards featuring your book cover. We can also supply posters, flyers, postcards and bookmarks to help promote your book and would be happy to quote for your requirements.
Marketing Campaign

Press coverage can be worth its weight in gold and if you feel uncomfortable about doing it or unable to, we can carry out a press/publicity campaign for you. Price on application.

Why go for the Silver package?

Our Silver service adds many, if not all, of the practicalities that a self-publisher needs.

You may be aware by now that if you apply for an ISBN number yourself, you will have to buy a batch of 10, that are non-transferable, and that will cost you £100.

You will also have to use up six of the books that you having printed for legal deposit purposes, which is more expense and a trip to the Post Office to get them weighed and sent off.

So why don’t you let us do all that for you? We’ll supply an ISBN number, we’ll print those six extra copies and we’ll send them off.

And you’ll need a way of getting your books to people, of course. So let us throw in a web page that can accept orders for your book. We’ll take those orders, package up the books and post them off.

Oh, and we’ll provide you with fifty promotional postcards as well, so you can let all of your friends and relatives know that the book is available and how to order copies.

If you arrange to sell your book through a bookshop or one of the bookselling websites, they would probably take 35% of the cover price (or more!), so you would be getting £6.50 for every book sold at, say, £9.99.

Sales through the web page that we’ll create for you are charged at just £1.75 each, so you’d be getting £8.25 instead, if the book sold for £9.99.

All we require you to do is have a batch of 25 printed for us to hold in stock, and to top that up when we’re running short. That stock remains your own property.

After the first year there is an annual subscription of £25 for each subsequent year you wish to keep the book available.
